Krka National park


Krka National park is located in Central Dalmatia, just a few kilometres northeast of Šibenik. It covers a total area of 109km2 of the sections of Krka River, after which it was named, and the lower course of Čikola River. Nowdays Krka River has 7 waterfalls which make it a natural and karst phenomenon, and it is recommended to visit Krka River during the spring and summer as at that time it is in its full glory and you can refresh yourself in the clear water.
In addition to the waterfalls and various flora and fauna, Krka National Park is rich of cultural and historical heritage such as archeological localities, sacral heritage and industrial heritage, among which the ruins of hydroelectric plant „Krka“ , protected as a cultural good of the Republic of Croatia.
